What Did Abraham Find?

Discover the treasures Abraham uncovered — and the inheritance waiting for you.

Today, I was inspired by a simple but profound question the Apostle Paul asks in Romans 4:1:
“What did Abraham find?”
That question assumes something important — and it implies that Abraham was looking.
How do you find something you are not searching for?
Abraham didn’t invent a doctrine or a spiritual technique. He searched and discovered something that already existed — something hidden, overlooked, or lost.
What Abraham Found
Righteousness through faith — being right with God, not by effort or performance.
An inheritance — a promise and blessing waiting to be claimed.
Unbroken promises — circumstances or failures could not cancel God’s words.
God’s reality — He calls things that do not yet appear as though they already are.
Divine reliability — what God promises, God is fully able to perform.
These were not vague ideas Abraham invented. They were specific realities — already established, simply waiting to be found.
The Rewards of Discovery
Because of what Abraham found, he received:
He was called a friend of God.
He became the father of all who believe — across generations and nations. That includes you.
He received a great name in God’s sight.
He was entrusted with a covenant promise that would bless all generations. That includes you.
There was much for Abraham to receive because there was much that had been promised — waiting to be discovered.
You have an inheritance too. Have you found it?
An Invitation to Search
Walk with me in a search to see what we too can find. There are treasures of revelation waiting to be discovered in God’s Word (Psalm 119:162).
Let’s be like those who once left everything in search of gold. They spent their lives sifting through ordinary earth, convinced a vein of treasure was hidden beneath the surface.
They knew it was there.
Let’s go.
With expectation,Dan Duke
