Access is Everything

I want to share something today that may leave you with a question—and that’s exactly the point.

Access is Everything.

As a New Testament believer, you have a privilege that Old Testament believers never had:

Access to God.

This access changes everything:

  • You don’t have to work to earn entry.

  • Obedience isn’t about gaining approval.

  • Prayer isn’t about convincing God.

Access answers the biggest question: Am I really allowed to be here?

Once you understand this, everything else falls into place. When you know who you are in God and what He has given you, striving stops, and your life becomes orderly and full of possibility.

A key difference:

  • Without access, activity becomes religion. It can feel like doing a lot but never really connecting with God.

  • With access, activity becomes priesthood. Everything you do flows from your relationship with God and has real meaning.

Instead of asking, “What does God want me to do?” the question becomes: “Who does God want me to be?”

In the Old Testament, only Levitical priests had access to God’s presence—and even then, it was very limited (Exodus 28–30; Leviticus 16).

But in the New Testament, God has given all believers access to His presence, to His holy things, and to His Son (Hebrews 10:19-22; 1 Peter 2:9).

This access is part of your New Testament priesthood. You don’t earn it—Christ has already opened the door for you.

Closing Thought:

You have access—more than any believer before you. What difference would it make if you lived like that every day?

With gratitude and expectation,

Dan Duke
